Western State College of Law is proud to congratulate alumnus Edwin Hong (Class of 2018) on the publication of his article, “Xenophobic Gatekeeping and the Battle for the Bench,” in the Daily Journal. In the article, Edwin examines xenophobia and bias in judicial elections, including the targeting of judicial candidates based on ethnic identity and the broader consequences for public trust in the legal system. He calls on members of the legal profession to challenge discriminatory conduct and uphold fairness, diversity, and integrity in the judiciary. Congratulations to Edwin on this publication and his continued contributions to important conversations within the legal profession.
