Despite a rare Southern California downpour, over 75 alumni, community partners, and students turned out for the 2026 Western State College of Law at Westcliff University Fall Alumni Mixer. Hosted at The FIFTH rooftop bar in Anaheim, the event proceeded comfortably under a fully tented patio. The impressive turnout on a stormy evening served as a great reminder of what makes Orange County’s oldest law school unique: a genuinely connected and dedicated alumni network.
Charting the Course
The highlight of the evening was an inspiring address from the Dean, Justice Halim Dhanidina (Ret.), who laid out a bold, forward-looking roadmap for the institution. As the law school looks to the future, leadership is focusing on three key pillars:
- Launching a Formal Alumni Mentorship Program: Building a structured pipeline to pair experienced graduates with current students, providing vital guidance for navigating their future legal careers.
- Expanding Institutional Reach and Notoriety: Rolling out strategic initiatives to elevate Western State’s profile within the legal sector and the broader community, ensuring the prestige continues to grow.
- Kicking Off the Anniversary Year: Justice Dhanidina officially teased the upcoming anniversary kickoff, noting that major milestone celebrations are slated to begin next year.
The Power of the Western State Alumni Network
With over 12,000 alumni, these mixers showcase the tangible benefits of the Western State community. Throughout the evening, alumni shared referral sources, discussed hiring opportunities, and offered advice to students. It was a great reminder of how the alumni network actively champions career growth and collaboration.
A Pivotal Next Chapter
Western State College of Law is entering an exciting era. As momentum continues to build, the real-world experience of alumni remains the institution’s most valuable asset in preparing the next generation of legal advocates.
Graduates and community members who wish to support this growth are encouraged to participate in the new Alumni Mentorship Program and update their contact information with the alumni office to receive details on next year’s major anniversary events.
