Western State Alumni Referral Scholarship

Scholarship Terms and Conditions:

Only new incoming students are eligible for the Alumni Referral Scholarship Stipend.
Referrals must be made by a Western State College of Law alumni.
Prospective student may not refer themselves on behalf of Western State College of Law alumni.
The recipient must be a first-time student of Western State College of Law.
The Alumni Referral Scholarship Stipend is not valid for continuing or previously enrolled students.
A student’s total scholarships may not exceed 100% of tuition.

The Alumni Referral Scholarship Stipend is valid for referred applicants who apply and are admitted within one year from the date the referral is received by the Admissions Office.
The Alumni Referral Scholarship Stipend is a one-time stipend that is applied towards the first year of the program.
Prospective students will not be awarded multiple Alumni Referral Scholarship Stipends based on multiple alumni referrals.
An alumni referral does not guarantee an applicant’s admission to the program.
Alumni referrals do not count towards an applicant’s required letters of recommendation

Founded in 1966, Western State College of Law is the oldest law school in Orange County, Southern California, and is fully ABA approved. Western State College of Law’s 11,000+ alumni are well represented across public and private sector legal practice areas, including 150 California judges and about 15% of Orange County’s Deputy Public Defenders and District Attorneys.

BIOGRAPHY

Professor Arshagouni began his career in legal academics in 2002 as an assistant research professor at the University of Houston Law Center’s Health Law & Policy Institute. He then spent several years teaching at Michigan State University College of Law where he taught a number of health law related courses as well as first year Contracts and Property. Professor Arshagouni has also taught at California Western School of Law and Whittier School of Law. Prior to legal academics, he practiced law as an associate in the health care practice groups at Sidley Austin in Los Angeles and at Foley & Lardner, also in Los Angeles.

Before entering the legal profession, Professor Arshagouni had a career in medicine. He worked for several years as a pediatrician and assistant clinical professor at the University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine. While at UCI, he acted as director of pediatrics at a community clinic in north Orange County, CA.
