Western State alumna Heather Baker (‘95) was recently appointed as the Culver City Attorney. Ms. Baker has been practicing municipal law for over 23 years, 20 of which have been with the city of Culver. She has served as Culver City’s assistant city attorney since 2007, prior to which she served as a deputy city attorney. Before joining the public sector, Ms. Baker worked for the Law Offices of Richard D. Jones (currently Jones & Mayer), which represented multiple cities, including Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra, Westminster and Whittier.
In her daily duties, Ms. Baker handles all aspects of municipal law. Her job also entails advising the City Council, the City’s Commissions, Boards and Committees and city staff on a wide variety of legal matters. Her days are full of continuous growth and learning, as she and her stellar team often tackle complex legal issues.
