Western State College of Law is excited to announce the upcoming Everett Dorey LLP—1L Moot Court Competition! Our 1L students have been hard at work, and this event is their chance to show what they can do in the courtroom.

During the preliminary rounds, students will deliver 10-minute oral arguments in front of a panel made up of faculty, legal professionals, and Moot Court team members. After a full week of rounds, eight students will rise to the top and move on to the finals, where they’ll argue their case in front of a distinguished panel, including the Hon. Erick L. Larsh (Class of 1986, Hall of Fame), the Hon. Linda Marks, and Seymour B. Everett III, founding partner of Everett Dorey LLP.

The finals will wrap up with a celebratory lunch and awards ceremony, where students will be recognized for their outstanding performance. One student will be awarded the Everett Dorey Excellence Award, which comes with a $500 scholarship courtesy of Everett Dorey LLP. Two runners-up will also be honored by the LWR faculty, and all finalists will receive a certificate recognizing their excellence.

We’re incredibly thankful to Everett Dorey LLP for their generous support of this competition and of our students.

We’ll be sharing highlights soon, so be sure to follow along and cheer on these rising legal stars as they take the spotlight!
