BIOGRAPHY

Professor Mellas earned her bachelor’s degree from National University, magna cum laude and her Juris Doctor degree from Western State College of Law, magna cum laude. In undergrad she was a member of the National Pinnacle Honors Society and while in law school she was a member of the National Criminal Law Honors Society. While in law school, Professor Mellas was appointed the Student Honor Board Chairperson, earned the Certificate of Exemplary Public Service, and was a Negotiation Competition team member, among other leadership roles. Professor Mellas worked as an intern and extern in several departments at the OCDA while in law school.

Prior to attending law school Professor Mellas was a professional studio and freelance photographer for over 10 years and additionally worked as a corporate trainer and educator for an international company of over 4,000 individuals.

Prior to entering academia Professor Mellas worked primarily in criminal defense and victims’ rights representations in several counties throughout Southern California. Since 2019 Professor Mellas has helped hundreds of post-graduation students hone their organizational and essay writing skills in preparation for the California bar exam as a bar exam grader.

Prior to becoming a visiting professor, Professor Mellas taught several classes as an adjunct faculty member including Sales, Criminal Procedure, and Professional Responsibility.
