Library Policies
Access
The library is open to current WSU students, faculty, staff, WSU alumni, members of any state bar, the judiciary, and faculty and students from ABA and California State Bar accredited law schools -- with appropriate identification
Food
Eating is not permitted in the library except for during school functions as approved by the director. Water in bottles with sipper tops is allowed.
Cell Phone Use
In order to preserve a scholarly atmosphere in the library patrons are asked to silence pagers cellular phones.
Computer Use
Western State University College of Law is committed to intellectual and academic freedom and to the application of those freedoms to computer media and communications. The College of Law is also committed to protecting the privacy and integrity of computer data and records belonging to the School of Law and to individual users. The Computer Use Policy is contained within the WSU Student Handbook section on the Honor Code, Section IX. Conduct which violates this policy may result in the immediate loss of all College of Law computing privileges and will be referred to appropriate College of Law offices and/or law enforcement authorities.
Circulation
In general, the library does not check out books. Exceptions are made at librarians’ discretion however, for textbook use during class as well as stand-alone treatises, biographies, legal novels and books in the Notable Trial series.
Study Rooms
Two or more people may reserve a study room for up to two hours, up to a week in advance. Only one reservation per day is permitted. If a study room is vacant, anyone may study there until a group needs the room.
