On March 14th, more than sixty Western State alumni, faculty and friends gathered at The Emerald Lounge in Laguna Hills to celebrate under the banner of Orange County's oldest law school. The evening continued in the Western State Alumni Network tradition of localized mixers, drawing an array of recent graduates and longtime practitioners throughout South Orange County. On Thursday, July 12, 2012, Western State alumni enjoyed a balmy evening at William D. Shapiro's Robinson Calcagnie Robinson Shapiro Davis, Inc. (RCRSD) San Bernadino offices. Dean Adams welcomed the crowd and recognized our generous sponsors. Bill Shapiro delivered a heartfelt address, and later presented Dean Adams with a check: $5,000 to fund Western State student scholarships—establishing the annual William and Susan Shapiro Scholarship. On January 31, 2012, Western State, deans, faculty, and staff welcomed the Board of the Orange County Legal Education Foundation and recipients of the Scott McCune memorial scholarship from the past twenty two years, to honor benefactor Mr. William McCune and family, for their generous support of Western State University student scholarships.
