Important Information for Students Admitted for Spring 2010

If you have been admitted for WSU’s spring 2010 entering class, congratulations!

Please note the following important information and deadlines to assist you in preparing to start law school. Check back to this page frequently for updates and important announcements.

  1. The Spring 2010 semester begins on January 4, 2010 for entering students. Mandatory Orientation and Introduction to Legal Methods class will be held evenings and Saturday January 4 through 9th. The detailed schedule will be available in November.
  2. Make your financial and scheduling arrangements accordingly.
  3. Return your reservation and seat deposit. Your acceptance letter was accompanied by an acknowledgement form to reserve your place in the spring 2010 class. Your letter will specify a deadline by which we ask you to confirm your intent to enroll and send in your tuition deposit of $300, usually within 4 weeks of the offer.
  4. Apply for financial aid and contact the student finance counselor right away. Fill out your financial aid application as soon as possible, and make an appointment to speak to Julie Kohler in Student Finance to plan the financing of your law school education. Tuition payments are due January 5th, so your financial aid or other arrangements must be completed prior.
  5. Registration for classes(by mail) will begin in mid November for students who have paid a tuition deposit.
  6. The Introduction to Legal Methods class is a one week course to prepare you for reading, case briefing, and exam skills needed for law school. It is a mandatory, graded, one unit course that is part of your first semester. The class will be held during the week of January 4th through January 9th. The course syllabus and first assignments will be emailed to registered students in mid December. You will need to buy the text and read assignments before the first day of class.
  7. Contact the Admissions Office (714 459-1101) or your Admission Advisor if you have any questions.
