Business Law Center Overview
The Business Law Center at Western State offers students strong academic and practical preparation for legal careers advising corporate entities, small businesses and entrepreneurs in all aspects of business law. Students have the opportunity to develop not only the legal knowledge but also the skills, practical experience and networking contacts they will need to pursue a successful career representing business clients.

The Certificated Course of Study Program comprises a wide range of courses relevant to business law, including required core courses and a broad range of electives.

  • Training in advising business clients
  • Opportunities for practical experience, including externships and internships
  • Seminars conducted by leading practitioners on current topics in business law
  • Networking contacts with the business and legal community
  • Career Services support and strong alumni network to assist in job placements

Our Mission
For law students more interested in the boardroom than the courtroom, the Business Law Center at Western State can provide the education and training to succeed in a legal career advising businesses.

The Certificated Course of Study in Business Law emphasizes transactional and client-centered skills for law students interested in representing all aspects of business.

Join us for this dynamic workshop to:

  • • Hear how our students acquire skills, hands-on experience, and make contacts to prepare for practice after law school
  • • Learn about exciting externship opportunities in various fields of law
  • • Hear from a panel of current law students and recent grads
  • • Meet and network with faculty members, current students and alumni

Lunch will be provided! An optional school tour will be given after lunch.
